The Foundation

Zanera is a 7.72 Open Tibia server, founded on the reversed engineered files. These files serve as the basis for everything — the map, the mechanics, the creatures, the world as it existed during that era of the game.

That said, the files alone were never enough to run a server in the way a modern audience deserves. The technical limitations of that time made it exceptionally difficult to maintain stability, address issues, or adapt to the demands of a living community. To build something sustainable, we have worked extensively on the underlying foundation — applying modern technology where necessary to ensure a smooth and stable experience. The changes are technical in nature. The game itself remains what it was.

Why 7.72

There are many successful servers running version 7.4. We have great respect for that scene, but Zanera is a different choice — and a deliberate one. Version 7.72 sits at a specific point in Tibia's history that we believe has been largely overlooked. Combat is still entirely manual. There are no hotkeys for runes, no hotkeys for mana fluids. Every action in PvP requires aim, timing, and attention — the way it was before the game began accommodating those who preferred otherwise. That rawness is something we consider fundamental, not a limitation.

At the same time, 7.72 is not without its own additions. Port Hope exists as a region. Wands and rods are available to sorcerers and druids. The world is slightly fuller than what 7.4 offered, without having crossed into the territory of what came after. It is a version that feels complete on its own terms.

The Name

The name Zanera was chosen deliberately. It belongs to that same period — a world that many players called home during the years this version of the game was alive.

Our Commitment

Our commitment is to long-term gameplay. There will be no resets, no pay-to-win options, and no changes made for the sake of change. Where quality of life improvements have been introduced, they are minimal and considered carefully against the experience we are trying to preserve. The goal is not to modernize Zanera — it is to let it exist, properly, in the present.

Current Status

The world is currently open for testing. A Discord server will be available shortly. The official launch date has not yet been set and will be announced when the time is right.
